Emergency accomodation
At the start of the semester, there is a huge rush on the Cologne housing market and unfortunately not all students manage to find accommodation in time for the start of lectures. The emergency shelter is a project that offers students without a place to stay in and around Cologne a free place to sleep at the start of the semester. As the name suggests, this is a temporary solution and not a long-term option.
The emergency shelter is a hall in the Catholic University Community, where 30 people can sleep on air mattresses. In recent years, shower facilities have been kindly provided by UniSport near the university. The room is usually not accessible during the day and is only open for overnight stays. This is exclusively an emergency shelter, so we cannot offer any additional services.
